Welcome to carmenthecactus.com! You
have found your way to a very cool new website. Within
the confines of this space you will find everything you ever
wanted to know, and maybe things you would rather not, about
Carmen The Cactus.
Carmen The Cactus is a group
of four individuals that meld country, folk, blues, rock, and
reggae to make music pleasing to all tastes. Well, if you are
into death metal, you probably won’t like them. But,
they are willing to try to convert you, or at least buy you
a drink and talk about it.
To truly get a full dose of Carmen
The Cactus’ brand
of music, the live experience is where their strength lies.
Over the last year they have sweated and toiled to make the
live shows a one of a kind experience. You never really get
the same show twice. Yeah, some of the songs are the same,
but their willingness to let things happen in the moment are
what sets them apart. Setting up the jam, and letting
the groove happen. Sometimes it’s magic, other times
quite tragic. But, they’ll be the first to start laughing
when all goes a rye.
Interaction is also a vital part of
who Carmen The Cactus is onstage and off. The pure
love of meeting new people, and seeing old friends on the
road makes for good vibes all around.
The other aspect of Carmen that you
may find interesting is the fine line they teeter between
a cover band, and an original band. You see, they do this for a living. Starting small
makes it necessary to play to some of the commercial crowd.
That’s where the money is right off the bat. It’s
not what the band is always into, but if it gets the point
across, then it’s cool. Other shows are purely original
music, if the venue is ok with it. You see, they truly give
the people what they want, music. And isn’t that
what it’s all really about? Not about if you are ALL
original, or ALL cover, it’s if you are ALL MUSIC. Play
music and play it well.
The band thanks you for checking out
our website. We
have big plans for this space we call our own, so check back
often to see what’s brewing in our world. Hopefully we
can see you out and about. Come to a show and say high! We’ll
be there.
Check you later,
Carmen
